How The Nebraska Lottery Boosted a Popular Game to Sellout Success

The client

The Nebraska Lottery provides entertainment options through lottery games such as Powerball and Mega Millions as well as Scratch tickets, and they wanted Smith Kroeger to maximize ticket sales for their Trucks & Bucks® game, which includes a giveaway of eight Ford F-150 trucks.

Our solution

Our team delivered a multi-faceted TV campaign centered on a light-hearted creative concept, which included two humorous, engaging commercials and a second media flight, keeping the game’s messaging fresh and captivating for players. This strategic, creative approach successfully drummed up excitement and drove awareness for the highly anticipated launch.

The results

Smith Kroeger’s creative campaign drove Trucks & Bucks® to a complete sellout, which netted more than $4 million in total sales — an average weekly sales of $137,000.

With more than 2.6 million tickets sold, the game sold out within the client’s desired timeframe, reinforcing Trucks & Bucks® as one of The Nebraska Lottery’s most successful offerings. Our deep understanding of the brand, coupled with consistently strong creative and strategic execution, has led us to continue to develop and execute compelling campaigns across The Nebraska Lottery’s entire portfolio of games.
