SKAR Wins Two Telly Awards
Two 30-second TV commercials we created in 2015 each have been given a 2016 Telly Award, an honor for film and video productions appearing on broadcast, cable, video or online mediums. A Silver Telly, the highest honor, went to “It All Starts,” created for the Nebraska Lottery, and a Bronze Telly, the second-tier award, went to “Urgent Care,” created for East Texas Medical Center.
“It All Starts” tells the story of a jet-setting millionaire named Joe, using reverse video to show how he won a Mega Millions jackpot from the Nebraska Lottery – and the whole adventure started with a buck. The spot was written and produced by Mark Carpenter, partner and vice president of creative strategy and production services at SKAR, and produced by the Great Plains Motion Picture Company of Omaha.
“Urgent Care” is an animated commercial showing how the “Cling Family,” those stick figures seen on the back windows of minivans everywhere, find the convenient care they need at ETMC Urgent Care clinics. The spot was written by SKAR president Joleen David and produced by Barbara Ruser, vice president and writer/producer, with animation by Grasshorse Studio of Winfield, Iowa.
Our winning commercials in the 37th annual Telly Awards were chosen from among more than 13,000 entries received from all 50 states and numerous countries. Entries came from advertising agencies, production companies, television stations, cable operators and corporate video departments from around the world. Winners were chosen by a panel of more than 650 industry professionals.
